A new challenge at Frosted Designs....

A word challenge: "family"  How gorgeous is this Webster's page!! Lullaby Lane. I couldn't wait  to use it! and these letters from a kit I got ages ago.  I am so on a scrapbook 'diet' at the moment and really happy to use what I already have!
I haven't done a LO for a while now and my MOJO had gone missing....I used the sketch from
Frosted Designs this week and voila!
if you look closely, I have followed it!

Last week was so hectic I forgot to post the fabulous challenge from Frosted Designs with the delicious digi stamps given to us by The Cutting cafe

I filled the jar with marshmallows.  The recipient thought it was hilarious! Last year I filled a jar with malteasers and called it Reindeer Poo!

Ask me what I want for Christmas.......

and I will tell you SPARE TIME! This time of year is really so very busy for me! I have all good intentions of pre-planning and organizing things along a time line! I plan to have all my work things done re: certificates, lollies, bookings & deposits.  I plan to have all (well most) of my Christmas shopping done and wrapped (er it is 16th December and I haven't done one thing!) I plan to bake and make lots of yummy things with a Christmas theme. I plan to have my house spotless and my tree brimming with the gorgeous decorations that my kids have made over the years, that I cannot bear to part with (even though they look deformed). I plan to make my Christmas cards (each with a special unique design) and maybe even a matching envelope! and send a loving note inside detailing what we have been up to this year. BUT...... again, a week to go and I am even MORE behind than other years!  Today I went to a funeral of a young girl of 25 and I watched her broken hearted parents leave the church utterly destroyed and I thought so what if I haven't got my tree up and Christmas cards done or my house is messy and I haven't done my baking or wrapped anything.  I came home and hugged my children (well two of them, the other two were working) and played basketball outside and just gave them good old fashioned time and thanked God that I have them and that I will be celebrating Christmas (in my messy house) with them and my family. xx

WOO HOO Bev!! congratulations!!!!  I will PM you to get your postal address and send you bundle of goodies ASAP!!!! enjoy!!!

I would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who visited and left comments!! It was a huge buzz to read them!
I have been super busy this week but I promise to visit everyone who joined in the Frosted Designs BLOG HOP and leave some love!!!
I can't wait to see what you all created!!

If you are here for the FROSTED DESIGNS blog hop {scroll down}

I have a lot of incidentals (that sounds nice doesn't it!) that I have to buy for! And I LOVE getting a bottle of wine or Champagne myself! so that is what I have done this year! bought alcohol! to jazz it up a little I have copied an idea from my craft friend Sue and put my own little spin on it of course!!!! easy peasy! and I have about 8 people done & dusted!!!!

Very hectic around here at the moment will all the end of year swimming/testing stuff! Patrick has OD'ed on the lolly bags! They are on holidays now and Mark has put them to work in the garden..... First they spent an hour looking for gardening gloves.... and then they had to use my rubber gloves and I only had one pair so they then spent an hour arguing who was going to wear them! If I had been there (instead of their father!) I would have told them to have one each!
Well I don't think they are going to be landscape gardeners! They did actually do a good job and didn't complain too much! I had to get the camera as proof (and that they were wearing PINK gloves!) lol
They were so exhausted after their hour of gardening that they played PS3 while they recovered!
And Christie is busy supporting her EBAY addiction, working three jobs during her Uni break.  She got a job the other day as a GRID girl at Sandown Races!

The other picture I has is very blurry and I will try and get another one! But in true Grid girl fashion, the dress was VERY short and looked great on ( oh to be 20!)

Finally got (or should I say the penny has dropped) good with my camera.  I just took a couple of my beautiful roses ( it has been raining that much her at the moment) they must really like it!! LOL I am not a green thumb!

Okey dokey! better get back to it!!!

Third time lucky.......

I have been having a few problems with my computer and I am in the process of fixing it! I have also been incredibly busy with my business and kiddies! Aden had his Year 12 graduation last week and we were so proud to see him receive a medal and award for outstanding achievement in Furnishing.  What started out as light relief and a break from the Chem/Physics/Maths he discovered he has quite a talent and love of creating from scratch! (wonder where he gets that from!?)  I have a feeling this will be a life long hobby.  I will share some photos when his cabinet comes home.  We are so very unbelievably proud of him! I really admire the determination, focus and attitude he has shown over the past 2 years and regardless of whatever mark/score he receives, I know he will always be a success in life.

Giving Thanks at The Pink Elephant

I was lucky enough to play with these super gorgeous digi's!

I am actually really happy with this one! My copic use is getting sooooo much better! lol  My friend, Sue keeps telling me practice makes perfect! and she is right!

Go an have a look at what the talented DT have come up with HERE

Exams are all over the shop here! so far so good (but I haven't got reports yet!) Lachlan text me after his English exam yesterday and said.....WOW! Reading the book really helped!
I couldn't help but laugh! duh! Scary thing is that he is year 9 oh well better late than never! and also...what the heck has he been doing before this.....?

Where has this year gone?!!!!!!

A my son, Aden has just finished his VCE exams, I can't help but shake my head and wonder where the HECK did this year go! I have concluded that I must be OLD now as when I was younger, the years dragged by! lol  2 kids down (through secondary school) and two to go! we are half way there and I have come through relatively unscathed ( It IS all about me don't you know!!!) Christie has finished her second year of uni, she is working three jobs now to support her EBAY clothes addiction! Lachlan & Patrick are doing their best to master COD (PS3 game) and my Mark is really settling in to semi retirement!

On the scrapping front, I have been a busy little bee...... The Pink Elephant have a gorgeous COLOUR challenge this week....RED, BLUE & YELLOW  I completed my LO and realized I didn't have any Yellow!! so I threw in some little punched hearts voila! Little Christie in the bath and dad going a little overboard with the bubbles! (on purpose I suspect!)

anyway, have a look what the team have produced and join in!

WOO HOO it is all happening at

Frosted Designs! there is a new DT with new weekly challenges, a sketch DT and weekly projects and tutorials. Along with that there are great prizes each week just by joining in!

This week's challenge is using a LARGE photo.  You know the ones you get from school, footy, ballet and the family ones that just don't make it into a frame......  I must admit, I never scrap the profesional ones. ( I do, however, scan, reduce and make mini books shhhh.)
Anyway, remember my trip to Queensland? When we arrived, our apartment wasn't ready so we went for a coffee and the boys bought a soccer ball (they were having withdrawals from basketball & footy I think) and we headed off to the beach.  I got some great shots of both the boys and this particular one of Paddy I just love! I remember thinking of the title below when I checked my camera!
if you join in this week, you could win a fabulous prize generously donated by Purple Pumpkin Crafts some groovy looking buttons and handmade embellishments AND she is an Aussie!

Ok stay tuned I do have heaps to show over the next couple of weeks! as of today there is 49 days left till Christmas.........

what a massive weekend!

I went on a retreat with my LSS Scraphaven and had a great time.  I managed to complete 3 LO's before I had to race off to my cousins wedding! It was a bit of a military manoeuvre so I could maximise my time there.  I had Christie dropping Mark to me and Aden picking him up. I caught up with cousins and rellos I haven't seen in ages, so it was great. Anyway I had a massive headache on the Sunday, so I didn't get anything done :( I did start a Kaiser advent box (pretty happy about doing a OTP!)
anyway here are two, one will follow (later)
sorry for the dodgy photo of this one........looks a lot brighter IRL!

The Pink Elephant scrapbook challenge this week is dress up !  I knew exactly which photo I was going to use! My Aden loved using Christie's fairy dress outfit when she wasn't wearing it! I knew when I took the picture I will be going on his 21st photo board!

Lori and the girls at The Pink Elephant have asked me to join their card team! So exciting! I love their cards and they are all so talented, hope I can keep up! anyway a new card challenge will be up Monday so come over and check it out!

Officially broke now!

September is our busiest month as all the boys birthdays are 10 days apart! the first was Patrick who turned 13! He celebrated with a party and netted lots of  $$$$!
Lachlan was next and turned 15!  he actually didn't want to do anything or have a party so we had a quiet night with the family and watched the footy!
10 days later Aden turned 18!! the poor kid spent the day in lectures in the city!  He didn't really want to do anything either, so we met him in the city and had dinner with the family and then he went to the casino! He was desperately hoping the security guards would ask him for ID (which they did so it made his night!) he spent quite a while losing his dough, but had such a good time!

We arranged to have a cake at the restaurant and then had another cake when we got home.

In the meantime, Christie flew to Perth to compete in the Australian Uni Games playing basketball.  Her team, which won the gold medal at the Southern Uni games, unfortunately lost the bronze medal game in Perth :(
the team had a ball and partied hard!

Then......one week later and it was MY birthday!! see what I mean! I am soooo broke and then when I was shopping in Coles the other day they had a whole aisle with CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS! I mean seriously!
I had a great day and night (just not cooking constitutes a great day!) lol

Christie and Aden went out to celebrate a friends 21st so I didn't get my full family photo! but as you will see how hard it is for me to get a decent photo! I am lucky I suppose, that they actually don't mind having their photo taken! I have friends that get so frustrated when their children won't smile at all!

Aden competed in his last ever school athletics!

and I actually managed to fit some craft in! well not too much but a few cards for friends birthdays!

I have actually done some scrapping but not able to show just yet!
I am going on a retreat this weekend, so hopefully I shall scrap up a storm!

see ya :)
