Just Add Ink #428

Hi there,
Making sympathy cards isn't fun but unfortunately a necessity :( When my FIL passed away, we received so many beautiful cards and they were really appreciated.  Not many people send them anymore. the younger generation are all on social media now and think cards are weird ( well my family do)  I always make sure I send them as I know how much they meant to my family and I know the recipient would like them.
I have a few designs that I 'go to' that are really simple and elegant.  I have made a few this week, all the same design and I will join in Just add ink #428 the colours this week match perfectly.

MUSE #284

HI there back again and  I know the best way to get back in to "it" is to join in a few challenges! I have SO SO SO many products that I haven't even opened let alone used.... embarrassing I know.  I vow to USE them all by this time next year! I am ashamed  to say it will probably be a year for me to work  my way through the stash...lola
Joining in with the MUSE #284 challenge this week with Michelle W as the guest designer and how gorgeous is her card! I am a sucker for B&W stripes!

Found this gorgeous floral from Wplus9 and I had a play at watercolour. I like the abstract flick of colour and I finished off with a lick of glossy accents.
thanks for popping in :)

CAS(E) this sketch #290

I spent a whole day in my happy place (aka my craft room) the first couple of hours was really just grinning stupidly lol.....
I had Outlander on my laptop, products on hand and made 14 cards!!! A couple of birthday cards, thank you cards (for Patrick to send out) and a few friends doing in tough atm so some happy mail coming there way.  I used to think making cards was a waste of time these days and thought I'll do something else, more scrapbooking maybe BUT the absolute happy feeling I got the other day when I went to my mailbox and there was a little pink envelope and no DL white BILLS I was so happy!
so I don't care what people say, I'll keep making and sending my cards (If you get a made card from me...I love you I don't waste them on just anyone...)

ANYWAY.... I'm joining in on CAS(E) #290 that sketch this week. I love the concord and 9th Birthday stacks stamp set and I have made so many cards with this set and as you remember I LOVE the luxe inks too... so juicy and great coverage!

thanks for popping in :)

Well hello there!

Hello and apologies for my absence!!  lots happening in my neck of the woods!  We are renovating and YES the craft room is FINISHED!! I have had Patrick's 21st and all the planning that goes along with it (party was here) as well as working so not much time to do anything!

It was such a buzz to get the craft room finished and the carpet in.  When I was unpacking, it was like Christmas finding all my supplies that have been packed away for so long.

Hubby will be putting my powerpoints in once I have a play and I decide on the exact placement.  Mark also is going to put LED lights along the inside of the bottom shelf.  I am so impressed with his attention to detail and the ideas he is coming up with!!!  I am still "decorating" and I don't want too much out or for it to look too cluttered.  I have a massive storage cupboard just to the right of the bottom photo and everything is easily accessible.  I do have my most used products right on hand so that suits me for the moment.

My baby Patrick turned 21 and I'm quietly patting myself on the back getting 4 kids to 21!  It was a fun night and we finally got to bed around 4.30 am and Patrick has sworn off alcohol (for the time being)

Things are back to normal here now and we just have the other boy's birthday's (September is such a busy and expensive time )
School holidays next week so I'll be in my happy place for the duration :)
Now can everyone barrack for the Demons (MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB) to win on Saturday xxx
Thanks for that
x

Angela ( that's me)

Here is my take on the challenge.

I was inspired by the grey and white tones of the inspiration board.  I used the Mudra Mendhika stamp set.  I wanted something long and swirly to create a border for the corner of the card.  I fussy cut around the shape ( while silently praising matching dies!!!)  When I added the grey to the card, it looked a little boring so I just scored a few lines to create the pattern and I like the the effect.  I used the Distress Ink hickory smoke which softens the card.  I had intended to make this a sympathy card, but I was watching the football and my "peace and comfort" stamp either crossed over the "Y" or touched my border!! So I  scoured all my stamps for something appropriate and used the add on from the Many Mandalas Stamp Set.

Craft room has had it's first coat of paint and new lights and DH had stepped up with the planning!! He has taped out the desk and shelves and electrical outlets! I'm just so excited!

thank you for popping in and now off to the gorgeous Ann's blog xx
