Frosted Designs card sketch challenge #12

Happy Tuesday everyone sorry a little late with this post but life is pretty hectic here.
Busy little bees over at FROSTED DESIGNS they have just announced their new DT so go and have a look and maybe visit a blog or two and leave a little love!

Anyway on to our fabulous card sketch designed by Jenny Evans!

I really like the banner part of the sketch so I decided to make that my focus.  I have been taking part in Jennifer Maguire's Inspiration Showcase (here) and the techniques I have learnt are fabulous! A brilliant online class and so well worth the money!!!

I have embossed the butterfly on gloss paper with a white embossing powder and then using Tim Holtz distressing ink ( I have many! lol) created the lovely mustardy yellow.  This embossed resist is really easy and looks fabulous!

hope you join in a $25 voucher to Simon Says Stamp is up for grabs this challenge.

Double Z fold card

I really like "different cards" card that are not your average run of the mill open from the right! When I saw this double z fold card, I knew I wanted to give it a whirl!! and the Authentique PP are just perfect and soft! I cannot believe I haven't heard of them before.  They have definitely been elevated on my fav list.

I must admit though, I did have another embelishement on my opening and It just didn't do it for me!!! I found the nestabilities lacey circles and large/small circles are a must have for any stash as they can quick fix anything and make it look fabulous!.
If you want to see the tutorial on how to make this card, check out the blog at Scrapbook Boutique

Frosted Designs LOVE IS IN THE AIR blog hop

Hello and welcome to the Frosted Designs Love IS IN the AIR blog HOP!

You should have arrived here from Lydia's Blog and if you haven't you can go back to FROSTED DESIGNS and find you way again.

You need to make sure you visit each and every blog in order. In each of the Design Team member's and our two sponsor blog posts, you will find a word. Write the words down in the order that you get them. Once you have visited all the blogs, you will have a phrase. Email that phrase to Diana at danica4us@yahoo.com. We will have a two drawings at the end of the hop for these great prizes from our sponsors: Vintage Street Market and Boys Rule Kit

Here is my card for today.  I have just christened my new sizzix alpha from stampin up and I think these will be getting a huge work out in the future!!! love love love them.

I embossed a Hero Arts background stamp on glossy paper and then with distress inks created a gorgeous reddy orange card. Ive used the sizzix die for the letters and I am really happy with how it turned out.
I really love my PTI "you" die as well.  I have been busy USING my stash rather than just adding to it and basically everything I used today would be for the first time *blush*  I even had to ring a friend to ask how to use the MFT flower die (down the bottom!)

I hope you are keeping a list of the words from each blog as it WILL make sense at the end!!!!

My word is MAY

next on the hop is the fabulous Teresa

enjoy & good luck xxx

Scrapbook Boutique February Inspiration Challenge and Blog Hop

Good Morning, hope you are gearing up for a fabulous Friday, as we are at Scrapbook Boutique!

Scrapbook Boutique's blog- and if you get lost, you can always head back to the SB blog and start from there!
The fabulous prize this month is the Tilda Loves Flowers by Magnolia Stamps

SB Blog, the random winner will be drawn from there!

The hop will be open for 1 week, closing midday Friday 17th January, the winner will be announced on the SB blog on Saturday 18th.

Unfortunately the blog hop prize (as is the inspiration challenge) is only open to anyone with an Australian mailing address.

We also have for you, our regular monthly inspiration challenge!

How delicious do those cup cakes look....?

Challenge : Create a project using the photo above as your inspiration, using Pink, Red and White.

The project can be a card, a scrapbook layout or off the page project......it's totally up to you!
The Prize :

One randomly chosen winner will win a
$30 Scrapbook Boutique Gift Voucher.

We look forward to seeing your creations.

Challenge Closes :

Midnight, Wednesday 29th February, 2012.

Now all the details are out the way...

I have created two cards for this blog hop!  I wanted to try a technique that I thought of in the middle of the night and quite happy and chuffed with myself too....... that is until I saw a similar idea on a Christmas card whilst blog hopping!!!

In my creative dream..... I used verigated twine on my heart.  I didn't like the pink to red so I decided on all red.

As I've been married for waaaaay over 20 years and we haven't swapped cards for about 20 years.... I think these will be relegated to the stash box! lol

Next on the hop is Karen's blog
Karen is our newest DT member and what she has created is divine!!!

Enjoy xxx

DT call!!! @ Frosted Designs

We have the most amazing group of ladies that make up Frosted Designs DT! Each and every one is special and has become part of the Frosted Designs family! We have several designers that will be staying on with us for another term (YAY!), but we also have some that need to step down. They will be missed but the good news for you is.... now you can apply to be part of our team!

We are looking for papercrafters of all kinds! If you make scrapbook layouts, cards, altered art items, home decor items or like mixed media.... we want you!! One of the best things about Frosted Designs (in my opinion) is that we celebrate all kinds of crafters! We are not just a scrapbooking blog or a card blog. We want to let everyone share their skills and with 3 challenges going on all the time, there is something for everyone! We would like to fill some positions on all three of our teams. Let me tell you more about each one....

Fabulous Friday Teams: We have two teams of ladies that make up our Fabulous Friday teams. The focus of this team is to use up supplies you already have laying around the house that may have been neglected and forgotten about. For this team, you should be willing to do any of the following: scrapbook layouts, cards, altered art, home decor and mixed media items!

Sketch Along Tuesday Layout Team: This team makes scrapbook layouts that are inspired by the sketches we give them.

Sketch Along Tuesday Card Team: This team makes cards that are inspired by the sketches we give them.

No matter which team you prefer, the requirments for all of our designers remain the same....
1. Be willing to commit to a six month term. Your term would start the beginning of March and go until the end of August.
2. Create a project every other week for your assigned team.
3. Share a step by step tutorial 2 times during your 6 month term. (This can be with photos or video)
4. You will be required to comment on some of the projects that are entered into our challenge each week.
5. Keep an active blog that is updated frequently.
6. Post our challenge and your project on your blog on reveal day and link back to the Frosted Designs blog.

To apply to be part of this team, you will need to....

*Share with us a little information about yourself and why you want to be on the Frosted Designs Design Team.
*Provide a link to your blog.
*Provide a link to an online gallery if you have one.
*Tell us if you are on any other design teams and what your commitments are for those teams. Never been on a design team before? No worries! No experience necessary!
*Share 3 of your favorite projects that you think best represents your style. If you are applying for one of the sketch teams, please do one project based on one of our sketches and let us know which sketch you used. You can find previous sketches in the tabs at the top.
* Tell us which of the three teams you are applying for. If you would like to apply for more than one team, that's great... Just let us know which ones!

Email your design team application to barb.craft@att.net! We are accepting applications until February 10th and will contact the new design team members by February 17th.

Good luck!

Frosted Designs Sketch #10

Hello and welcome to this weeks Frosted Designs card sketch challenge #10. A gorgeous sketch that screams CAS which is currently my new fav of card styles. I am in awe of some blogs I have been stalking lately. Their simply elegant style seems so effortless and I am in awe of their creative talent!
Anyway here is the sketch and my take on it. I am unable to link anything at the moment, but I will when I get a chance.
