Muse #106

WOW! It has been so long since I've been able to just have a play!  I had an idea in my head and it almost came out as I'd imagined it!  I am off to a wedding on Saturday and I wanted to make my card a little non traditional and also use colours associated with the theme of the day.  I wanted a more gradual variegated look but I am overall happy with the result.  I thought I play along with Muse #106 as I really love Shona Chambers soft and subtle inspiration card.

thanks for popping by :)

Happy Belated Birthday!!

I am pretty good at remembering birthdays, so I don't really need this type of card too often......  I did make this card, knowing the recipient would get it three weeks later!
Using a bit of washi for the flowers as all the PP I tried just didn't pop like it wanted it to!  It is pretty easy just cover some cardstock with your washi tape and die cut your shape.  Gives it a funky look too.  I'm going to do another and use a few different tapes.

Here is MY take on the challenge:-

My youngest, Patrick is starting year 12 this year ( his final year of high school)  He is super organised and has made a plan ( hopefully he will stick to it!)  I am liking his new approach to school!!  I am SO LOOKING forward to:  * not paying any more school fees,
                                              * not making lunches,
                                                      * not driving him to school
                                                         * not reading English novels
                                                            *not Proof reading/critiquing
                                          * not writing notes
                                                                             *not attending Parent teacher interviews

After 19 years of having primary and secondary school children, I am sad (NOT) that it will all soon be over!!
I made this card to let Patrick know he is so capable and we are proud of him no matter what!

 and now head on over to Linda's gorgeous blog!! and check out her gorgeous interpretation!

A Very Happy Birthday

Hi there! It's all a go here with the kiddies starting back tomorrow! I am NO WHERE near ready but things always seem to fall into place!! Thank Goodness, I was organised, because I haven't really had any time to play in my craft room (despite a 6 weeks holiday......) ANYWAY...
Honeycomb is trending at the moment, I've seen lots of inspiration on Pinterest especially with mixed media and I love it.  I have just got some new stencils, so stay tuned!!!
